Here's another Basque song translated into English. The lyrics are written by Kirmen Uribe, a very famous Basque poet whose poems can often be found in English. The beautiful music is by Rafa Rueda and it's the perfect accompaniment to the lyrics.
This is my own (and I'm sure imperfect) translation.
In winter
On the ancient road to Cenarruza
We see a flower
Surrounded by stones
Perhaps
The sun has tricked it
And it doesn't know the snow will return
Long ago I, too, feared
That I came to the world too soon
The spring flower has five petals
Five yellow, nervous petals
Long ago I, too, feared
That happiness was as fragile as that flower
Now, your words comfort me
Now, I know that winter will end
Long ago I, too, feared
That the old wounds would bleed again
Now, your words comfort me
Now, I know that winter will end
Now, your eyes comfort me
Now, the snow melts in your hands
